About the Author
A professor of sociology at the College of William and Mary, Kathleen Jenkins received her master's degree in religious studies from Brown University and her Ph.D. in sociology from Brandeis University. Her book, Awesome Families: The Promise of Healing Relationships in the International Churches of Christ, was published by Rutgers University Press in 2005. Primary areas of study and research for Dr. Jenkins include family, religion, and gender.
This project is funded in part by Lilly Endowment Inc. through the Engaged Scholars Program of the Congregational Studies Team, and in part by a Joseph H. Fichter Research Grant from the Association for the Sociology of Religion.
